I sold an item for $2 not a big sale. The buyer isn't responding. I don't know what to do. should i file unpaid item? Can the buyer turn and leave me negative feedback? my score is 100% but i only have around 80 stars. please advise, thank you.

For a $2 sale, I would probably just forget about it.

You can file a UID (Unpaid Item Dispute) and in 7 days get your fees back.

The quote below is taken from the link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/losing-feedback-privileges.html

When a buyer fails to respond to an Unpaid Item notification and the seller issues an Unpaid Item strike against them, the buyer can still leave a Feedback comment, but the Feedback rating they leave for the transaction will not appear and will not count toward the seller’s Feedback Score.

Disclaimer: This is id (cjturtle) is not my eBay id. Someone else on eBay already had this id. My eBay id is not even close to this one.

I haven't posted in IF for a while. But i can see you have a new and improved Avatar. It looks great http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/grin.gif
let's say I forget about it and don't file UID. If the buyer for no reason leaves a negative (i don't know why, but let's assume they're crazy--I have heard a lot of strange stories) can I have that negative not reflect on my score by filing the UID afterwards? and also, how long does the buyer have to leave feedback, positive or negative. thanks for your help

I'm not sure about having it removed in that situation, but you only have so long to file a UID but the opportunity to leave feedback of any type is available for 90 days I believe. So you'd want to file the dispute long before waiting to see if they leave you a neg or not.

I would file if they have not responded per your TOS..In that way, if they do not respond through Ebay's Unpaid notice, they can leave feedback but if it's a neg, you will only see the feedback but Ebay will remove the neg. It's happened to me before and although you see the nasty comments, Ebay posts this:
Rating withdrawn by eBay
Buyer didn't respond to the Unpaid item notification for this transaction
2.00 or not, you are leaving yourself wide open for a neg in the next 90 days.
When I file I also wait the 7 days and before I close the unpaid item dispute through Ebay I leave them a neg and then close. If you close and then try to leave the buyer a neg, it won't work.
My 2 cents worthhttp://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/grin.gif

Sure it will, as long as your Strike wasn't their 3rd and making them NARU.
I always file and wait the time frame and close the dispute first and then leave my neg. I've even waited a few days before leaving the neg and have always been able to leave it after closing the dispute... with only one exception when my strike was the one that made them NARU, and in that case it really didn't matter if I left FB or not cause that account was already done in...

I have someone with one previous purchase, and that was in the summer, who hasn't paid or responded to emails. It will be a week Sunday. Does that mean I can forget the auction and relist my item? Is there any thing else I have to do to accomplish this? Thanks.

You can relist an auction immediately, as long as you know the buyer won't honor his bid.

Here's the link that explains the UID:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/unpaid-item-process.html

I believe once you file the UID you are no longer under any obligation to the buyer.

I am not sure about that, CJ.
I think that the UID must be closed before the obligation is released.
I file one of these about every 6 weeks. On the rare occasion that the buyer does not respond and I close it, I receive my FVF's along with a note stating that I am now under no obligation with that particular buyer.
