I got an email this morning from "Stanley". Good ole Stan said he paid for some auction ending on 3 September and that if he didn't hear from me in 2 more days he was going to send a complaint to eBay and PayPal! He had the balls to accuse me of scamming him! What a numb-nut! I didn't have any auctions ending on Labor Day weekend nor did I have any starting that weekend either! http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/biglol.gif I did start a few this Sunday evening. The item number for the supposed auction was all wrong. Also the ebay email question stated that he was a potential buyer etc. Whole thing looked hinkey! Didn't respond the numb-nut at all. Just to be safe I checked all my records. He never paid for anything via PP, cash, check, MO, precious gemstones or first born! Sure enough I have never sold anything to good ole "Stan" or any other Stanley for that matter. Forwarded the em to spoof at eBay. Sure enough, good ole "Stanley" was phishing! Just be aware. Didn't mean to run on with this but it is kinda funny. I get things like this every once in a while. Just the little ones! How come no one from Nigeria ems me to offer me millions of dollars to help them get bazillions dollars out of the country? What has happened to my long lost relatives? http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/biglol.gif

never answer those emails.
Always send to spoof@eBay.com and spoof@paypal.com
thanks for the heads up though.
Sometime people get the wrong ebay user Id also.
Always report both to PP and ebay and be sure after deleting that you check your trash folder and delete and your desktop trash bin to immediately delete.
Good time to clear out the cookies and the temp files also ...just in case!

You gotta love how creative they can be huh? (NOT! http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/lol.gif )
I get them from time to time too, usually I know right off that they are phishing cause I don't recognize the ebay ID or they are so off the wall I know it's not legit... but a couple times I've had them where I've had to double check before forwarding or replying...
I've had them say that they were trying to pay for xxx item and couldn't so I needed to tell them how to pay. Those are the ones I usually have to double check... I've also had ones accusing me of not paying for this or that that I won... but considering I always pay for my items right away I always know those are bogus.

I get so many of them, all to email addresses that have never been associated with Ebay or Paypal, that I've just stopped forwarding them on to spoof. I just delete them.
Between my 3 Gmail accounts I probably get 30 of them a DAY. Gmail has no way to block them so they just keep filling up the spam folder.
You can never have too many Jack Russell Terriers.
