Hi!

http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/shame.gifI managed to lock my topic and don't know how to unlock it so I'm posting this again! Lesson learned, don't be pushing buttons if you don't know what thery are!http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/confused.gif

I have this pair of leather leggings, chaps? I'm not sure how to list them. I can't find anything like them on ebay or web search. Anyone out there know anything about them? I do know they are quite old. My father in law had them for 40 yrs and who knows how long before that!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Merry

Thanks Queenmum....I'm kind of feeling my way in the dark as you can probably tell. I don't know if this will work either. I used to know how to do this but haven't done it in a long time.

Merry, are you sure they go on the legs and not the forearms? I don't know, but I saw a lot of similar looking things at the Renaissance Faire this weekend.

Maybe something for fencing or some kind of shin guard for horse-shoeing? Just some ideas you could search.

Good luck! And btw, VERY nice to see you!

They are called "puttees" and are from a WW1 Doughboys uniform:

Her Majesties!http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/wink.gif Thanks so much for the help in identifying these! I had always thought they were snake bite leggings, that is what my father in law used them as. They do have the name of one of my husband's great uncles in them though so that would fit the time frame.

http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/biglol.gifAs usual vv, you are a wealth of information! Now tell me what I was doing wrong on the pics please.

Hi Di! Great to see you too! I may be around some now, I'm getting back into listing after a very busy summer.

This has got to be a secret between you and me because I'm sure it's the wrong way to do it. I opened a new browser and C&P'd your linkwanabe starting at http and stopping after .jpg. After I saw the thig-a-majig I C&P'd the adress in the browser thingy over to IF.http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/lol.gif
