Anyone have a good supplier of packing/carton sealing tape?
I've been looking through listings and websites all morning and a person could look forever!
I was hoping someone might have a company they are happy with they'd like to recommend.
TIA

BF, I don't think we have a Dollar Tree anywhere near here. What price do you get them for?

Thanks jj! I'll check them out!
I just found a seller on ebay with some great prices! He's got 6 330' rolls of tape for just under $13 - Sounds like a good deal to me, anyway. http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/grin.gif

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and bought a lot from the guy I mentioned - I figure, if it's crappy tape, it will be a lesson learned.
I'm going now to esupply and will get some from there as well. I can always use more tape!
You guys are great! Thanks!

Sorry to say...Yes, you need to be a member. If you have a friend that belongs to Sam's you can get in with her...
Getting the Tape from the other places that are mentioned here might be even better!http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/wink.gif

I just checked e-supply and they are not currently offering anything. The last tape I bought was a super special from OFFICE DEPOT. I tried some of the cheaper stuff as well as the thicker tape, both priced competively. Cheap tape is just like most everything else...ya get what you pay for. I have also bought tape on ebay that the vender called gorilla tape. It was not very strong and I usually ended up with as much of a mess as one could make with tape.

almost any dollar store has clear, brown, yellow, etc tape for $1 and where I go it's the thick rolls, I think it's cheaper (for me at least) to go to the local dollar store, it's about 5 blocks from where I am. It's cheaper than paying for shipping. It's half a block from the p.o. so it's convenient for me. Foe someone living in a more rural area it might be a better deal to get it through ebay if they buy it in bulk so they can save on s&h.
Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents, since that's about all I can afford these days with all the ebay fees! lol http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/lol.gif

When you buy tape, watch the length of the rolls. Some are double rolls. Of course, I use the PO tape on anything I send priority. Can't beat free.

I loved the brown tape from Dollar Tree, it covered a multitude of sins in shipping. But lately the dollar trees here in San Antonio have not been carrying it. Can you jvi1929 still get the brown tape where you are at and I know nothing about the yellow tape.

That's a good price, but how long does it take to use that much? Even during peak selling season, we wouldn't use more than a roll a day, and that was before using gummed labels, so we were using about a foot per package just to tape down the label.

My PO must still like me...
They always seem to have an extra roll when I ask. Of course, my packages increase their volume and somehow (very convoluted formula) that increases their revenue/budget, so they like to keep me happy!
The PO is a mid-sized one, so it is small enough to remember me, but big enough to handle the volume.

That's great! All your Mom has to do is show her card at the register...and you can pay for your items either by CC DC or cash ... I find buying my packing material in Sam's, saves me the shipping cost and I don't need to buy in bulk...(no room for storage)

Our PO isn't allowed to even give us regular tape to tape up a little corner. Though because I do smile right they do slip some to me if needed. I haven't even seen any priority tape there.

I use Grand and Toy in Canada for all my bubble wrap and tape.
large box 100 yards of bubble wrap is $13.50 including shipping.
6 rolls of their G&T brand tape usually runs about $5.50 including shipping.
you can buy right off their web site

Are those prices for U.S. or Canada shipping? They sound pretty good!

That's for canadian shipping, they will do that price across canada. I thought about putting it up on ebay and selling only to canada.
Opportunity there?

Sounds like a good price to me. Too bad they won't ship to the U.S. (at least that's what their website says)
If it were me, I'd go ahead and just list a couple lots of them and see how they sell. If they sell well, list some more. http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/grin.gif

Called up my supplier.
Trouble now is finding time to list all the products.
We can't get the priority tape anymore.
Me neither. And I send out tons of stuff ALL Priority.
At our Post Office we have 2 Nazi Post Office Clerks. They think the Gestapo is sending them messages from the grave.
They check EVERYTHING. And the line keeps growing longer and longer behind me.
"What's in this package?"
"It's Priority. It's none of your damn business."
"Where did you get this Priority Tape?"
"That is also none of your business."
"According to regulations Priority Tape is not suppose to be used to seal packages."
"So sue me. Just tell me how much and stamp the things and send them out."
And the beat goes on......

When they buy by the railroad car load, the tape can't possibly be costing them that much. You'd have to use a roll per package for it to be a serious problem.

Unless you know someone, there is one "official" way to still get Priority tape. A roll comes in the military shipping kit. Here is a link that shows the other items(asst. boxes, custom forms, etc.)You can't order this kit online, only by phone. There is no limit to the number you can order.
