I know a lot of you buy on eBay, as well as sell, so maybe you can remind me about how the checkout page looks! http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/tongue.gif
I just got an order from a fairly new buyer and she bought and checked out/paid for 3 items separately. I am set up for multiple-item shipping discounts, so I redid her order, refunded, etc. She thanked me and asked me how to order several items and pay for them all at once.
Well, I'm having a duh moment and can't remember--is there a "continue shopping" button or something after you buy your first item? I know a lot of my buyers just buy the multiple items and wait for an invoice, but others go ahead and checkout and pay the correct amount.
I wish eBay had a "test" feature so that I could pretend to buy something and see how it looks, but I don't need anything right now!
Thanks!!

Yes, usually there is a pay now, or continue shopping this seller's items.
I may depend on how your items are set up though... I don't know if that option appears if you require payment immediately via PayPal... I do know that otherwise there is an option to continue shopping. I've done it plenty of times before when I wanted to continue browsing the seller's items to see if there was anything else I needed/wanted.

I think ebaY's combine shipping function is a little broke.

Imagine that! http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/biglol.gif
I don't have immediate payment required since I'll take money orders as well, so hopefully I've got a continue shopping button. She is a new buyer, only signed up this month, so maybe she just didn't see it.
Thanks for the answer!

Becky,
Just tell her to wait for a new invoice. eBays'combined shipping has always worked very well for me. (Imagine that!)
Then you just go to one auction she won, and in send invoice page it will show all auctions won from you by that buyer. YOU MUST check-mark all items in the boxes next to them, then go to recalculate (at bottom). It will add up all the items, but not shipping. After weighing all together, you type in the total shipping amount you need for the combined order. Then send that invoice to her.
Or is that what is broken??

I've never had any trouble sending combined invoices; that does work fine for me, too. When I click recalculate at the bottom, it fills in the correct amount, so I think my preferences are all set up right.
My question is related to the buyer end--some people seem to have no trouble checking out several items and paying the correct combined total (before I ever send an invoice). But then some people check out and pay for each item separately because apparently they can't see a way to combine their order. Then I have to refund and combine the items and make them pay again (sorry, I'm not paying 3 or 4 PayPal fees for all those separate payments!).
I guess I'm trying to figure out how that first group can check out and pay the right amount while I'm asleep in the middle of the night! Is the checkout system showing them the right amount, or are they just manually typing it in based on my listings, which say $x.xx for the 1st item and $x.xx for each additional?
When this woman asked me how to combine her order and make one payment, it occurred to me that I didn't know and that always irks me. Maybe I'll invest a few dollars in a couple of low-priced items and see how it works. I just think I need to see it from both sides to appease my inquiring mind!! http://www.buildaforum.com/inkforums/img/smilies/wink.gif

The deduction for multiple purchases is automatically calculated as long as you have it setup in your eBay preferences.
I have the same problems you have with buyers making multiple purchases. They just don't read!
