The fine print:
When is it?
Two days only, starting Thursday, August 23, 2007 between 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Thursday, August 23, 2007) and ending on Friday August 24 at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds).
What are the fees?
For Auction-style and Fixed Price listings the fee for the 10 day duration feature upgrade will be FREE on the U.S. ebay.com site. This includes listings that may have been created prior to the promotion period but are scheduled to start during the promotion period August 23-24, 2007.

Am I missing something here...I get a "free" upgrade for the privilege of ending my auctions on the last U.S. summer holiday weekend, when I'm sure to reach more buyers, who will of course be glued to their computers?

For me, seems like over the years, labor day weekend has been the suckiest of any holiday weekend for sales.

It is a long standing tradition to post all Ebay specials here, even if they end on a holiday weekend.
